Job Title: Plaintiff Personal Injury Lawyer
Job Responsibilities:
The Plaintiff Personal Injury Lawyer is expected to independently manage a docket of 60 to 80 personal injury cases. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing deadlines and filing petitions
- Answering written discovery
- Taking depositions and attending hearings
- Participating in mediation
- Taking cases to trial
The lawyer should be comfortable handling cases with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong leadership skills to drive cases to resolution. Additionally, the role involves:
- Drafting petitions, motions, and discovery requests and responses
- Supervising the medical care and treatment of clients
- Taking and defending party, witness, and expert depositions
- Conducting legal research and writing
- Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Prioritizing cases while being detailed-oriented and self-motivated
Candidates should also have substantial experience in:
- Drafting petitions
- Conducting complex discovery
- Drafting complex motions and briefs
- Handling expert, corporate representative, and fact witness depositions in state and federal court
- Arguing motions in state and federal court
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Juris Doctor (.) degree and a Texas law license in good standing. Candidates should ideally have 2 to 4 years of experience working on catastrophic personal injury cases on either the plaintiff or defense side. First chair trial experience in a personal injury case is preferred. Additional preference will be given to candidates who have clerked at a state or federal appellate court and/or have tried cases to verdict.
Salary Information:
The compensation package for the Plaintiff Personal Injury Lawyer position includes a salary ranging from $125,000 to $155,000 per year. The package is a combination of salary and bonus, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include:
