Job Responsibilities
The Paralegal provides essential support to the Solicitor General, members of the division, and other attorneys within the organization. Key responsibilities include maintaining attorney calendars for complex and high-profile cases across state and federal courts, assisting in the preparation of trial and appellate briefs, and other court-related documents. The role involves creating and maintaining files and data, ensuring compliance with ethical duties pertinent to state employees and lawyers, such as maintaining confidentiality of information. Additional duties include:
- Supporting the Solicitor General and attorneys with administrative and clerical tasks, such as preparing correspondence and pleadings.
- Electronically filing documents and assisting in the discovery phase of litigation, including document production and management.
- Monitoring the Solicitor General’s email, scheduling meetings and due dates, and uploading emails and e-filed pleadings to Sharepoint.
- Creating and maintaining files and data within office systems, including Sharepoint and AdvoLogix.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information
The typical qualifications for this position include excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and competence in multitasking and flexibility in work assignments. The candidate should have the ability to process a high volume of data, documents, and other information quickly and accurately. Familiarity with, or the ability to learn, software and computer systems used by the office, including court-filing systems and productivity software, is necessary. The ability to work independently, with or without supervision, as well as part of a team, is also required.
Salary Information
The salary for this full-time position ranges from $51, to $66, annually.
