Job Title: Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal at the company is expected to work closely with attorneys in the Legal Department on a broad range of corporate matters, litigation/regulatory support, and general department management. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a wide variety of subsidiary matters, including new registrations, consolidations, name changes, and ongoing management of entities both in the . and international jurisdictions. This involves partnering with global controllers on local subsidiary changes.
- Assisting in managing the legal inbox and triaging general legal inquiries, exercising sound judgment in escalating issues when appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date entity lists, corporate records, and organizational charts, leveraging an entity management tool to enhance efficiency.
- Supporting the legal team on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or other legal transactional matters as necessary.
- Assisting in-house counsel with Know Your Customer (KYC) and other internal and external record requests.
- Managing registered agents for . entities.
- Conducting legal research as needed on matters impacting ongoing business objectives.
- Providing support related to administrative proceedings and litigation, including gathering and reviewing documents for discovery/subpoena responses.
- Maintaining legal documents and electronic files, including confidential records, with a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Participating in special projects, both within the legal team and cross-functionally, as required.
- Preparing correspondence and providing general administrative support to the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the Paralegal position, candidates must have:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies or a Bachelor’s Degree with a Paralegal Certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited program.
- Legal authorization to work within the jurisdiction where the individual resides.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, research skills, sound judgment, and a thorough and accurate attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products like Word and PowerPoint, and SharePoint. A willingness to learn new technologies as needed is also preferred.
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work streams to meet critical, short-term deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to identify and assess risks and escalate issues to in-house attorneys as needed.
- Experience working in-house or closely with in-house counsel is a plus.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the capability to work cross-functionally.
Salary Information:
The anticipated starting base pay for the Paralegal position is between $79,219 and $116,188 per year, depending on the primary posting location. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills, and experience. The position is also eligible for the company's discretionary annual incentive plan.
