Job Title: ITS Applications and Training Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver software applications training programs and individual classes, which include:
- New employee training
- Periodic in-depth training on supported applications
- Lunch-time training sessions on specific topics
- Training for temporary secretaries on standard applications and procedures
- Law Clerk training
- One-on-one training as requested
- Act as the primary escalation point for issues arising from Help Desk, SMEs, remote trainers, and users who utilize training services.
- Provide proactive support on firm-supported applications directly on the floor.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using standard desktop applications of the law firm, including but not limited to iManage, Microsoft Office 2016, Payne Consulting Group’s Numbering Assistant, Levit & James’ Stylizer and Best Authority, Adobe Acrobat, iTimekeep, Workshare Pro, and InterAction.
- Serve in an administrative role for the UniversitySite Learning Management System.
- Assist in the development of new templates, autotext, and other tools to help users automate tasks.
- Collaborate with departmental decision-makers to create and communicate learning plans.
- Establish and maintain a database to track the status and results of training participants.
- Administer training event feedback mechanisms through UniversitySite, analyze results, make recommendations for improvements, and integrate changes into curriculum and courses.
- Develop, analyze, and update training documentation.
- Work closely with Applications Support Analysts to create and maintain courseware.
- Ensure the availability of necessary manuals and handouts for each course.
- Provide input into the overall training budget.
- Identify training requirements originating from new projects and departmental initiatives.
- Conduct group and one-on-one training during visits to law firm offices several times per year.
- Participate in business process improvement initiatives.
- Engage in self-development through professional organization membership, seminars/workshops, or exposure to industry information.
Education and Experience Information:
- , and/or five years equivalent work experience.
- MOUS Certifications are desired.
- Experience in the legal industry is desired.
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications, including Office 2016, iManage, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies, and course design techniques.
- Knowledge of trends in computer technology related to software.
- Experience with a Learning Management System.
- Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, focusing on motivational skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to research course development and delivery concepts, as well as technical software issues.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Ability to quickly absorb new ideas and concepts.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Very strong customer service orientation.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional travel to law firm offices is required.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and handle other computer components.
