- This is a hybrid role, requiring 3-4 days onsite and the remaining days remote.

- The individual will perform mid-level legal assistant and administrative duties for a Staff Counsel Office.
- Responsibilities include developing a working knowledge of legal concepts and practices, drafting and revising routine legal documents, handling multiple administrative and legal tasks, and participating in the preparation of pleadings and discovery.
- Additionally, the role involves training and onboarding support for Staff Counsel Support Staff and maintaining relationships with attorneys, outside departments, courts, clients, and third parties.
- The position may require obtaining and maintaining a notary license depending on the jurisdiction.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of legal concepts, practices, and Staff Counsel procedures applicable by jurisdiction.
- Draft and revise routine legal documents.
- Handle multiple administrative and legal tasks to support attorneys.
- Participate in the preparation of pleadings, routine motions, notices, jury demands, routine discovery, and more.
- Review invoices and prepare/send checks.
- Provide training and onboarding support for Staff Counsel Support Staff.
- Maintain relationships with attorneys, outside departments, courts, clients, and third parties.
- Obtain and maintain a notary license if required by the jurisdiction.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a legal secretary, paralegal, or legal assistant handling personal injury litigation matters.
- Ability to manage and monitor court filings and suits via mail, in-person, or e-filing.
- Experience handling paper and electronic mail.
- Knowledge and experience maintaining attorney and office calendars.
- Experience reviewing invoices and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Familiarity with the discovery process and assisting in gathering and compiling medical records and documents.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients, claims personnel, adversaries, and tribunals.
Location:
- HYBRID - Individual will be required to work 3-4 days onsite in the Hudson/Essex/Passaic, NJ office.
