Job Title: Tax Analyst - FSO - Fiduciary Trust Estate Advisory Services

Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Analyst will be involved in the Fiduciary Trust & Estate Tax Administration Services (FTEAS), providing fiduciary and court accounting services for banks, law firms, family offices, and individuals. The primary responsibility is to assist in managing the FTEAS business from the respective office and support the FTEAS leadership team in developing and implementing the overall strategy. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing trust tax compliance outsourcing and support services for organizations using a trust accounting system, including banks, wealth management firms, family offices, trust companies, and law firms.
- Reviewing, preparing, and overseeing accounts, managing client relationships, and maximizing operating efficiency.
- Preparing and reviewing fiduciary accountings for trusts, estates, and guardianships.
- Reviewing trust and estate documents, including trust instruments, wills, and IRS Form 706.
- Reviewing and interpreting source data (., bank statements, brokerage statements, checking accounts) to determine proper treatment for accounting purposes.
- Participating in internal and external training to maintain and enhance knowledge of fiduciary law and software applications.
- Communicating regularly with client liaison and/or client trust administration team.
- Interacting and communicating with immediate supervisor and department/company co-workers, including data entry staff.
- Managing the start to finish of an accounting, including monthly billing.
- Organizing and maintaining personal account workload.
- Maintaining annual firm-required CPE credits.
- Participating in business development activities.

Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for this role, the candidate must have:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the preparation of fiduciary accountings.
- Knowledge of current fiduciary accounting law.
- Strong technical, verbal, and written communication skills for participation in internal and client meetings.
- Experience in managing client relationships.
- Detail-oriented with strong technical skills in basic computer software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Approximately 2 years of work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with both internal and client team members.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel as needed and work in a balanced hybrid environment.

Ideally, candidates will also have:
- Experience working with the Thomson Reuters FAS accounting system preferred, but not required.
- A Paralegal degree with trust and estate knowledge, with experience in an accounting firm or bank trust department is preferred.
- Experience working in a law firm preferred, but not required.

Salary Information:

The base salary range for this job across all geographic locations in the US is $58,300 to $96,400. The base salary range for the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $70,100 to $109,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through various factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
