Job Title: Marketing & Business Development Manager - Aerospace & Defense / Automotive & Mobility
Job Responsibilities:
The Marketing & Business Development Manager will support the global Sectors team at the law firm, focusing on the Aerospace and Defense sector and the Automotive and Mobility sector. The role involves collaboration with colleagues across the ., Europe, and Asia, particularly working with stakeholders in Washington . and Munich. Key responsibilities include:
Planning & Budgeting:
- Leading and supporting the development and implementation of business plans.
- Delivering market research, client analysis, and internal intelligence to support the business planning process.
- Ensuring sector leadership teams and sub-groups meet regularly to deliver on plans.
Marketing Campaigns, Thought Leadership & Profile Raising:
- Growing the sectors within the market and with key clients.
- Planning, creating, and managing marketing communications, such as seminars, client events, CLE trainings, client-facing materials, and content for web and social media.
- Leading directory and award submissions in the . and supporting global submissions.
- Coordinating input for sector-specific thought leadership publications.
Events & Sponsorships:
- Evaluating, coordinating, and executing sponsorships; negotiating agreements and managing participation to maximize return on investment.
- Producing, managing, and supporting seminars, receptions, and other marketing-oriented events, including event promotion, development of invitations, client communications, concept development, and vendor selection.
- Working with sector heads and leadership teams to plan internal meetings and retreats.
Client Development:
- Monitoring and analyzing client financial performance, conducting internal review meetings, and supporting client portfolio management within the sectors.
- Conducting client feedback and acting as the client account manager for key clients.
Pitches & New Business Generation:
- Supporting sector-led pitch opportunities.
- Liaising with the global Pitch team and other Marketing & Business Development (M&BD) team members to provide input for other sector, practice, and firm-wide pitches.
- Creating and maintaining standard targeting materials, including master credentials documents.
Internal Communication & Knowledge Sharing:
- Leading sector working group efforts.
- Maintaining key M&BD resources on the firm’s external website and global intranet.
- Partnering with M&BD leadership to promote capabilities across the firm through global retreats, internal newsletters, conference calls, meetings, and the intranet.
Projects:
- Managing and contributing to wider M&BD projects, including the development of the firm-wide industry program.
- Managing ad hoc inquiries about the sector and its clients from other firm parts or M&BD team members.
- Duties or responsibilities may be reviewed periodically to reflect changes in personnel, management structure, team location, and services.
Education and Experience Information:
- Seven or more years of marketing experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in marketing, communications, or business.
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of the automotive & mobility and aerospace and defense industries is highly desirable.

Salary Information:
- In Washington, DC, the annualized salary range for this position is $128,000 to $188,000, depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
- Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
- Full-time employees and some part-time employees will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exist.
