Job Title:
Child Support Specialist II
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, analyze, and evaluate child support cases to determine appropriate establishment and/or enforcement actions.
- Prepare records of payment, legal pleadings, and correspondence to ensure accurate documentation and communication.
- Update computer records to maintain current and accurate information on cases.
- Perform locate activities to find individuals involved in child support cases.
- Document case activity to provide a clear record of actions taken and progress made.
- Negotiate settlements and agreed orders to resolve child support issues amicably.
- Mediate between parties to resolve issues relating to child support payments.
- Monitor and manage case log to ensure all cases are progressing as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work;
OR
- A master’s degree;
OR
- A juris doctorate degree;
OR
- An associate’s degree in Legal Assistance or a closely related program of paralegal education and two years of professional experience in child support enforcement, accounting, or social work;
OR
- An associate’s degree in Public Service – Legal Case Management and two years of professional experience in child support enforcement, accounting, or social work;
OR
- Completion of an American Bar Association approved paralegal education program and two years of professional experience in child support enforcement, accounting, or social work;
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required bachelor’s degree.
Salary Information:
- Level I H30A: $36, plus full state employee benefits.
- Level II H30B: $39, plus full state employee benefits.
Note: This is a full-time position located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is eligible for full state benefits. A valid driver's license and required car insurance are necessary for this role. The position is part of the Oklahoma Civil Service, and the organization is a Fair Chance Employer.
