Job Title: Tax Senior - Hedge Funds

Job Responsibilities:
- Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analyses for various hedge fund clients and their affiliates.
- Possess a solid understanding of Subchapter K related to hedge fund structures, financial products, related tax adjustments, and aggregate allocations.
- Determine trader vs. investor status and identify necessary federal, international, and state investor reporting.
- Perform detail-level review of tax workpapers, allocations, and tax returns.
- Conduct research to advise on transactional and tax planning opportunities with the support of the Washington National Tax group.
- Build relationships by coordinating and communicating with client contacts to gather information.
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced-level staff.
- Attend required training specific to the company and sector.

Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field is required.
- 3+ years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- Must have one of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- If not CPA eligible, must be a Licensed attorney or Enrolled Agent.
- Certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires co-location in person 2-3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, based on the work and clients served.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 firm.
- Demonstrated understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, wash sale and constructive sale rules, and familiarity with aggregate allocations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role is between $66,570 to $151,580. This range considers a wide range of factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to rules governing the program, based on individual and organizational performance.

Note: The role is available in multiple locations across the United States.
