Tax Senior - Federal / Corporate Tax
Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior Consultant within the Business Tax Services group, the candidate will be an integral part of tax engagement teams, providing and assisting with a myriad of tax services pertinent to public and private companies. The responsibilities will encompass tax compliance, tax planning, tax controversy, and tax research. Specific duties will include:
- Conducting a detailed technical review of partnership, corporate, and individual federal tax returns alongside all related work papers.
- Coordinating with clients' tax and finance departments to gather data for tax planning and compliance.
- Performing a detailed review of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
- Researching federal tax legislation to comprehend its impact on compliance and consulting.
- Assisting with various tax consulting projects, including research and writing projects related to federal tax planning, restructuring, controversy, and accounting for income taxes.
- Managing engagement workflow and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for the position include:
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work and the clients and industries/sectors served.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in federal taxation.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing federal tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA. If not CPA eligible, the candidate must be a Licensed Attorney or an Enrolled Agent. Other certifications such as Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) are also acceptable.
Preferred qualifications include:
- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment.
- A passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions.
- Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC740.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communications skills.
Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers a broad array of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, with awards depending on factors such as individual and organizational performance.
