Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the lifecycle management of the law firm's Networking portfolio, ensuring technology solutions are stable, secure, and scalable to meet the firm's needs.
- Design the law firm's on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
- Oversee ongoing data center operations and maintenance of the law firm's infrastructure estate, collaborating with third-party providers, contractors, and resources as necessary.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures.
- Work closely with the law firm's Information Security organization, IT Security Solutions team, Application Solutions teams, and other IT engineers to establish common standards and objectives for the firm's infrastructure solutions and support broader infrastructure functional objectives as needed.
- Actively monitor, diagnose, and optimize infrastructure performance, integrity, and security to ensure high availability levels.
- Provide advanced technical support for the law firm's on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure environments, offering Tier 3 technical support in a 24x7 setting.
- Collaborate with IT Security Solutions to architect and integrate the law firm's infrastructure solutions with its portfolio of security technologies, such as Perimeter Defense, Monitoring & Logging, and Identity, Access, and Authorization Management.
- Lead capacity planning and system optimization efforts for infrastructure solutions, including performance fine-tuning and environment scaling.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform ongoing maintenance and support activities, such as infrastructure security audits, upgrades, reconfigurations, and optimizations.
- Anticipate, mitigate, troubleshoot, and resolve problems across the infrastructure stack, focusing on preserving a gold-standard end-user experience.
- Support application teams throughout project lifecycles, serving as infrastructure subject matter expertise as required.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and other third-party providers.
- Stay current on marketplace trends, conducting research on emerging infrastructure products, services, protocols, and standards.
- Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity, particularly concerning sensitive and/or confidential firm and client information accessed through this position.
Education and Experience:
- College degree strongly preferred, ideally focusing on computer science, engineering, or related fields.
- CCNP or industry equivalent certification.
- Over 10 years of relevant experience as a Network or Senior Network Engineer, ideally in a large law firm setting, a comparable professional services organization, or a legal information services provider.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the system lifecycle for global infrastructure solutions and capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure design in a global, multi-tenant environment, including on-premises and cloud-based solutions.
- Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
- Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto Next Generation Firewall deployment and administration.
- Demonstrated experience with SD-WAN technologies, with Palo Alto preferred.
- Experience with Cisco Application Centric Architecture, Catalyst switching, and routing.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network environments and quickly identify root cause problems.
- Hands-on familiarity with routing protocols, including BGP.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and capabilities.
Salary Information:
- Salary range is $116,000- $163,500.
- Candidates hired for staff positions with a minimum work schedule of 30 hours per week are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare insurance.
