Associate General Counsel - Contracts
Job Responsibilities:
As an Associate General Counsel - Contracts, the individual will be a key member of the legal team with responsibilities that include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of complex contracts, such as government, healthcare, vendor, service, construction, and clinical agreements.
- Leading contract negotiations and collaborating closely with internal departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and effective risk management.
- Advising on regulatory compliance, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity issues relevant to contractual obligations.
- Collaborating with internal teams, including Legal, Compliance, and Finance, to ensure contract accuracy and timely execution.
- Driving improvements in contract management processes and supporting conflict resolution and compliance reviews.
- Serving as a role model in carrying out activities and behaviors that reflect the values and principles of the organization's mission.
Education and Experience Information:
Required qualifications for the position include:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Nebraska State Bar.
- A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, specifically including hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working with federal and state government contracts and procurement processes.
- A strong understanding of legal issues in healthcare, social services, and privacy/data security environments.
