Job Title: Conflicts Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The Conflicts Analyst/Conflicts Attorney is a critical role within the department at the law firm. The primary responsibility of this position is to collaborate closely with firm attorneys and other members of the Conflict & Intake department. This collaboration is essential for reviewing new business to identify and resolve potential conflicts, as well as addressing business and General Counsel policy issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding legal conflicts, related ethical rules, and current developments to properly analyze and evaluate conflicts checks. This involves clarifying parties, positions, and identifying possible "stop issues" such as General Counsel business and risk policy issues, pending laterals, and matters against significant clients, and notifying the requesting attorney.
- Communicating with lateral attorney candidates to obtain complete and accurate client and related parties information to distinguish between portable and non-portable business.
- Administering the conflicts review process and resolving potential conflicts in accordance with the law firm's policies.
- Conducting data analysis and research using various electronic databases.
- Documenting processes and maintaining records of conflicts-related information from conflicts reporting analysis, follow-up responses, and other relevant data from conversations with law firm attorneys.
- Communicating with attorneys by presenting brief, clear statements of potential conflicts situations recognized in the conflicts reports and capturing institutional knowledge discovered during the process.
- Elevating issues to the submitting attorney, such as non-responsiveness, and identifying and escalating ethical conflicts and unresolved issues to the requesting attorney.
- Assisting with other department activities as needed and performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- An advanced graduate degree or JD is desired for this position. An advanced degree is preferably in competitive intelligence, research studies, or a similar field of study.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Paralegal, Litigation Legal Assistant, Legal Researcher, or other comparable position involving researching in a legal environment is preferred. Alternatively, business experience in an analytical role is also considered valuable.

- Recognizing confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintaining such information as confidential is a key responsibility.
- The candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Technology:
- The candidate should have computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications quickly are necessary.
Salary Information:
The expected pay range for the Conflicts Analyst position is $115,000 - $130,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional Health Savings Account (HSA), short-term disability, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
