Conflicts Researcher

Job Responsibilities:
The Conflicts Researcher plays a crucial role in the law firm's new business intake and lateral hiring processes by researching potential conflicts of interest. Key responsibilities include:

- Performing quality control reviews of client/matter intake, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Conducting conflict of interest searches for clients, matters, and new business using Intapp, the firm's conflicts and intake database.
- Performing conflicts of interest searches for lateral attorney candidates and incoming staff, project attorneys, and summer/fall associates using Intapp.
- Reviewing and analyzing conflict of interest reports to identify false positive hits and adjusting search terms and strategies as necessary.
- Conducting factual research using internal and external resources, which may include researching corporate relationships and discussing with attorneys and staff to gather or clarify information.
- Collaborating with the ICS team and the Office of General Counsel to research, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest.
- Performing database maintenance, data entry, and special projects as requested by the Intake Manager.
- Continuing the development of skills, process improvements, and knowledge of applicable rules regarding conflicts of interest and trends/changes in the legal industry.

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required. An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties may also be considered.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a legal environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to compile, review, filter, synthesize, and interpret varied information.
- Strong research skills using internal and external resources with an aptitude for quickly learning new applications.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to produce high-quality and accurate work with minimal supervision amid multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and with teams to promote consistent and efficient workflow processes.
- Ability to identify and respond to internal and external client inquiries in a timely manner and seek feedback/follow-up as appropriate.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide high-quality service and partner effectively with diverse groups at various levels within the firm and with external contacts.
- Ability to self-manage and work independently in a hybrid and in-office setting.
- Ability to write effective business correspondence and present information or respond to questions from attorneys or staff professionally and courteously.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary Information:
Compensation for the Conflicts Researcher position is dependent on several factors, including position, location, education, training, and experience. The hiring salary range is $50, - $70,.
