Job Title: Legal Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Project Manager plays a crucial role in maximizing results and increasing profitability for practice groups within the law firm. This involves conducting financial analysis, management reporting, budgeting, resource management, and expense control. The manager supports the firm's practice management efforts by analyzing financial information at the firm, practice group, client, and matter levels. Collaboration with multiple internal departments is essential to encompass a variety of tasks related to pricing and profitability analysis.

Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing financial information for assigned practice groups, examining accounting and financial records to ensure data accuracy, and developing reports on monthly performance.
- Meeting regularly with Practice Group Leaders, financial personnel, and practice group directors to review and discuss results and maintain positive financial control.
- Providing technical expertise in preparing reports and summaries, creating and maintaining templates, conducting analysis, cost findings, and management briefings.
- Analyzing and reporting on practice group and firm metrics, comparing financial and operational performance against internal and external benchmarks, and identifying trends to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Understanding law firm economics and the firm's financial system and related tools to train partners, attorneys, and practice groups on these methodologies.
- Performing annual budgeting analysis and prospective modeling to predict period-end performance and determining the impact of proposed initiatives.
- Assisting Service Delivery leadership in coordinating tasks with analyst-level resources and providing direction and work product review as needed.
- Assisting in developing strategic plans and ensuring the strategic planning process stays on track, undertaking special projects in support of the firm's strategic initiatives.
- Collaborating with Business Intelligence and IT on developing client-level and matter-level progress reports.
- Actively seeking opportunities to improve processes, create efficiency, and automate tasks.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Certificates:
- Project management certification (., PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is preferred.

Minimum Years of Experience:
- 6 years of financial analysis, accounting, or business analysis experience, preferably in a professional services environment.

Desired Skills:
- Proven ability to synthesize and analyze financial data and prepare reports to assist in making project management and pricing-related decisions and risk assessments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to successfully consult, collaborate, and inspire confidence and trust with the firm's senior partners, lawyer-leaders, and staff leaders.
- Outstanding organizational skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-level priorities in a fast-paced changing environment to successful conclusion in a timely manner.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite applications, specifically MS Excel and spreadsheet/database applications.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.

Salary Information:
The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $110,666 – $175,962 per year, depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Compensation offered will also depend on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. A comprehensive package of benefits is offered, including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k).
