Job Title: Legal Support Services Manager
Job Location: Washington, DC
Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:
Venable, a leading law firm, is seeking a Legal Support Services Manager to provide leadership and management to the Consolidated Model Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs), Litigation Division LAAs, and Practice Group Assistants (PGAs). This role requires dedication to learning and embracing the Firm’s culture, building strong relationships with attorneys and legal professionals, and ensuring effective and efficient client and administrative support.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of LAA’s and other support roles
- Ensure timely and cost-efficient completion of client and administrative tasks
- Coordinate daily staffing, scheduling, workflow, and backup support
- Monitor staff overtime and resource utilization
- Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies
- Conduct practice needs assessments and develop relationships with lawyers
- Ensure staff accountability to established core competencies
- Identify and resolve problems in collaboration with legal staff
- Lead change management activities with actionable deliverables and communication plans
- Conduct regular staff meetings and assess skill levels for training and development
- Evaluate and hire high-performing staff and facilitate onboarding and training
- Partner with Senior Manager on strategic planning and change management projects
- Coordinate office social functions

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in a law firm environment
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and MS Project
- Familiarity with document management and accounting systems
- Strong focus on client service and responsiveness
- Ability to anticipate problems and find solutions
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade others
- Understanding of litigation legal processes and technologies preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay range of $114,000 - $165,000 per year
