Law firm seeking a skilled and experienced Intellectual Property Prosecution Paralegal to join our team in either our New Jersey or New York offices. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of law firm experience in intellectual property prosecution. If you have a strong understanding of . trademark and copyright laws and a proven track record of successfully managing trademark portfolios, we want to hear from you.

As an Intellectual Property Prosecution Paralegal, you will be responsible for preparing and filing trademark and copyright documents with the USPTO, WIPO, and through the Madrid Protocol. You will also work closely with foreign counsel to manage trademark applications and registrations outside of the United States. In addition, you will conduct trademark clearance searches and assist with due diligence on trademark portfolios and IP-related corporate transactions.

This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and excellent communication skills. A college degree and/or paralegal certificate are required, as well as a strong working knowledge of MS Office, Relativity, and Concordance. Knowledge of iManage is a plus.

We offer a competitive starting salary and a comprehensive benefits package. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, with a range of $76,500 to $179,000.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file trademark and copyright documents with USPTO, WIPO, and through the Madrid Protocol.
• Communicate with clients regarding trademark status and upcoming deadlines.
• Conduct trademark clearance searches and prepare copyright applications for registration.
• Assist with investigations of third-party use of marks and preparation of evidence for briefs and filings.
• Prepare and file UDRP actions and assist with TTAB petitions and motions.
• Maintain a docket of IP deadlines and coordinate responses with attorneys and staff.
• Conduct due diligence on trademark portfolios and IP-related corporate transactions.
• Ensure deadlines are calendared and reported using trademark docketing software systems.
• Proof and edit patent applications and office actions, and prepare office actions.
• File and assist with the prosecution of design applications.
• Assist clients with ongoing third-party patent monitoring.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of law firm experience in intellectual property prosecution.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• required.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Relativity, and Concordance.
• Knowledge of iManage is a plus.
• Familiarity with trademark docketing software systems, preferably CPI.
