Senior Paralegal, Corporate – Restructuring
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Paralegal, Corporate – Restructuring plays a crucial role in assisting attorneys with Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 bankruptcy proceedings. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting correspondence and documentation under attorney supervision.
- Revising and proofreading draft pleadings and other court documents.
- Gathering, organizing, and maintaining precedent collections.
- Conducting factual research assignments and reporting findings.
- Electronically filing court documents on case dockets.
- Coordinating with internal and external working groups to facilitate case progress.
Specific duties also involve:
**Fee Application Preparation:**
- Drafting monthly fee statements and interim compensation applications.
- Reviewing and revising task narratives and disbursement details to comply with federal and local fee guidelines.
- Coordinating workflow by working closely with attorneys, the billing department, and administrative assistants.
**Hearing Preparation:**
- Analyzing dockets and drafting hearing agendas.
- Retrieving and organizing underlying documents.
- Coordinating with Chambers regarding submissions.
- Compiling all documents, books, and other materials, providing necessary support during hearings, including coordinating with Chambers.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record is required.
- A minimum of 5 plus years of related experience is preferred.
Qualifications / Position Requirements:
- Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other applications as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff, demonstrating strong teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to proofread typed material for typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ensuring confidentiality of all the law firm's and client’s documentation and information.
Salary Information:
The expected base salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. The law firm offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
