Job Title: Bankruptcy Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Bankruptcy Paralegal at the law firm will be an integral part of a team that works on high-stakes restructuring, bankruptcy, and other debtor-creditor disputes, often with cross-border elements. The role involves extensive collaboration with attorneys and other case team members to deliver top-tier services to clients. Key responsibilities include:

- Providing comprehensive support to attorneys and case teams from the pre-suit investigation through trial by managing various bankruptcy-related and litigation tasks.
- Collaborating closely with attorneys, legal analysts, litigation assistants, and other support staff professionals to ensure seamless communication and adherence to case-related deadlines.
- Taking ownership of assignments, managing timelines, and ensuring all deadlines are met. Consulting with attorneys on case budgets when necessary and developing protocols, procedures, and work product templates for efficient case management.
- Establishing and overseeing the infrastructure and organization of all case files, facilitating the drafting of motions, expert reports, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Coordinating and overseeing all aspects of discovery, including the organization, management, collection, and production of electronic discovery.
- Overseeing, coordinating, and taking ownership of all pre-trial and trial assignments, such as creating workflows, deposition designations, witness and exhibit selection, maintaining virtual war rooms, and assisting with witness and cross-examination processes.
- Managing substantive disposition motion practice, including drafting and assisting with summary judgment and dismissal motions.
- Attending and supporting court proceedings, including oral arguments on motions, arbitrations, and trials.
- Preparing and overseeing court e-filing and related court submissions at both State and Federal levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Interacting and negotiating with litigation vendors and court personnel, managing relationships, and ensuring seamless collaboration.

Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of substantial litigation paralegal experience with a focus on bankruptcy work, particularly pre-trial discovery, motion practice, and court proceedings gained from a litigation firm.
- Understanding of Chapter 11 bankruptcy rules and procedures, including requirements for notice and service of pleadings.
- Experience with preparing bankruptcy professional retention and fee applications, including "connections" checks required for the same.
- Experience in preparing basic bankruptcy forms.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university is required.
- Knowledge of civil litigation in Federal and State Courts, legal procedures, terminology, and court rules.
- Proficiency with legal software such as Relativity, CaseMap Suite, and Trial Director is preferred.

Salary Information:
At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is US $120,000 – US $165,000, based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate’s actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, training, skills, and market data.
