Are you a Patent Agent with a strong technical background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or biomedical engineering? Do you also have a strong background in computer science and software? Steptoe LLP, a leading law firm in New York, is seeking a Patent Agent to join our Intellectual Property group. As a Patent Agent, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks including preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting IP due diligence, and performing patent landscape and freedom-to-operate analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications
- Conduct IP due diligence
- Perform patent landscape and freedom-to-operate analysis
- Work as an integral part of a high performing and collaborative team
- Assume immediate responsibility for tasks
- Provide excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills
Qualifications:
- Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or biomedical engineering
- Strong background in computer science and software
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Registration with the US Patent and Trademark Office or ability to become registered
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills

Salary Information:
- Anticipated salary range of $135,000 to $200,000
- Actual base salary offered will be dependent upon experience and qualifications
- Other job-related factors will also be considered, such as relevant skills, education, certifications, and geographic location
