Job Title: Case Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily interactions with existing and potential clients, both via telephone and in person.
- Order and manage medical records from providers, maintaining communication with clients and providers throughout the course of treatment.
- Obtain necessary documents to support injury and/or liability positions.
- Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
- Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate reductions of outstanding medical balances with providers.
- Collaborate directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
- Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble supporting materials for submission to insurance carriers.
- Interact with attorneys and present case synopses when required.
- Manage case files from intake to closing under the direction of an attorney.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is also preferred.
- Prior experience as a Personal Injury Case Manager is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a legal position or as an insurance adjuster is preferred.
- Demonstrated negotiating skills.
- Ability to work as a team player and follow established procedures.
- Proactive in interactions with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills, along with attention to detail.
- Extensive expertise in computer and database use, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to type no less than 35 words per minute.
