Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for providing paralegal services for client cases that reach litigation status. Key responsibilities include:
- Timely answering and returning all client calls to maintain effective client contact.
- Taking timely actions regarding litigation cases to ensure efficient case development.
- Immediately documenting all available data in the case file, adhering to the principle that if it is not in the file, it did not happen.
- Accurately drafting legal documents such as Petitions, Answers, Discovery, Motions, Demands, and other necessary documents.
- Preparing cases for the litigation process by ensuring all deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates are accurately scheduled and updated in the calendar.
- Filing appropriate documents with courts and serving opposing parties.
- Assisting Litigation Attorney with case management and trial as needed.
- Consistently communicating with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and mediators.
- Sorting, scanning, renaming, saving, and distributing litigation mail and faxes.
- Auditing cases for all expenses, including medical bills, case expenses, LOP providers, and subrogation liens.
- Accurately maintaining case management data in Salesforce (case management database).
- Preparing for trial, including documentation, trial logistics, and attending the trial, which may require some travel.
Meetings include daily team huddles, weekly firm huddles, weekly one-on-one meetings with the Litigation Attorney, and 45/90 and annual performance reviews with the Litigation Attorney. The Litigation Paralegal reports directly to the Litigation Attorney.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Personal Injury Law is required.
- A strong foundation in Personal Injury Litigation support, with experience in preparing cases for trial, is essential.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle a high volume of work and work under pressure are required.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
