Job Title: Legal Secretary

Job Responsibilities:
- Draft, transcribe, proofread, edit, and file court documents and related correspondence, memorandums, pleadings, and related documents.
- E-file and paper file documents with local, state, federal, and appellate courts.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail for the attorneys supported.
- Maintain team and court calendars and keep attorneys aware of scheduled events and approaching deadlines.
- Schedule meetings, conference calls, assist with travel arrangements when necessary, and reserve conference rooms.
- Professionally communicate by phone and email with clients.
- Schedule depositions and assist in trial preparation.
- Maintain files and coordinate travel arrangements and process expense reports.
- Assist fellow workers and/or other timekeepers as needed and requested.
- Assist with billing.

Education and Experience Information:
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five or more years of defense litigation secretarial experience is required, with large law firm experience being a plus.

Additional Information:
The position is part of the staff department at a law firm and is located in Atlanta, GA. The role supports 3 to 4 attorneys with document formatting, e-filing, calendar management, document production, expense reconciliation, and other legal administrative duties. Candidates should be organized, skilled in MS Office, and have solid experience in legal team support, including document drafting and formatting, filing, proofreading, and higher-level legal secretary functions. The position requires strong MS Word and Excel skills, and a typing speed of at least 60 wpm.
