**Members Only**, an established IP boutique law firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced intellectual property patent prosecution paralegal to join their team in White Plains, NY. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a hybrid on-site/remote work arrangement. The successful candidate must have a college degree and at least 3 years of experience in . patent prosecution work.
**Members Only** was founded in 2008 and has since grown to house over 30 patent, trademark, and copyright attorneys. They are highly regarded in the industry, being one of only four firms listed in the IAM Patent 1000 New York section recommended on each of the prosecution, litigation, and transactions tables.
As the Intellectual Property Patent Prosecution Paralegal, you will have the opportunity to assist in all phases of domestic patent prosecution, support multiple patent attorneys, and work with both internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong writing abilities, and the ability to prioritize and manage a full workload with attention to detail and accuracy. Additionally, proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required, and experience with patent prosecution and USPTO forms, database, and website is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in all phases of domestic patent prosecution
- Support multiple patent attorneys and clients
- Prioritize and manage a full workload with attention to detail and accuracy
- Work independently and collaboratively with other paralegals and attorneys
- Effectively communicate in verbal and written communications with a focus on accuracy and proper grammar usage
- Comprehend and follow through with practice procedures and instructions
- Prepare and file USPTO forms for all phases of prosecution
- File Information Disclosure Statements and manage the review of patent families
- Prepare draft papers for responding to USPTO communications
- Prepare and file assignment documents with the USPTO
- Handle all phases of PCT prosecution, including payment of fees and responding to defects
- Complete and attend to execution of Powers of Attorney
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred
- 3+ years of experience with . patent prosecution work
- Strong writing skills and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Exposure to docketing software is a plus
