**Members Only** is a highly respected and successful law and policy organization, dedicated to serving primarily Black and Brown families and youth in Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Attorney to join our team and help us continue our mission to defend and protect our clients' rights, reduce the harm of family separation, and prevent or minimize the time any child spends in the foster system.

CFR has been recognized for our innovative interdisciplinary legal defense model, which assigns every client an attorney and a social work staff member. We also have the support of parent advocates, who are parents with direct personal experience of having been investigated and prosecuted by the City's Administration for Children's Services (ACS). Our unique model has been replicated nationally, and we continue to be at the forefront of promoting family preservation and interdisciplinary representation.

As a Staff Housing Attorney, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients by providing legal representation and support in a wide variety of housing and public benefits matters. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including Family Defense, Criminal & Youth Defense attorneys, Social Work and Parent Advocacy staff, Housing Specialists, and Client Coordinators. This is a unique opportunity for a competent and creative professional to assist CFR in expanding its civil practice and improving the stability of our clients and families.

As a Staff Housing Attorney, your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to client referrals, providing advice and counsel, and opening cases for litigation
- Monitoring housing and other civil legal developments and creating resources for CFR staff
- Assisting clients with necessary paperwork and appointments
- Identifying systemic housing and public benefits issues and advocating for change
- Maintaining data on work and outcomes
- Assisting with external legal education efforts, including planning and providing workshops, and outreach to community organizations

CFR offers a generous compensation package, including a competitive base salary and benefits such as health, 403(b), and vacation. The salary, benefits, and employment policies are governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CFR and the CFR Union, part of ALAA (Association of Legal Aid Attorneys) UAW 2325.
