Job Title: Client Development Manager
Job Responsibilities:
Client Account Management
- Manage day-to-day relationships with major clients, serving as a key contact both internally and directly with clients.
- Develop deep knowledge of the firm's relationship with clients, their strategies, needs, and operating sectors.
- Collaborate with relationship partners and client teams to strategize and set objectives for growing client relationships, including identifying new business opportunities and providing value-added services.
- Implement client account plans and relationship development initiatives with client teams.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance and client developments, ensuring timely dissemination of important information to relevant parties.
- Work closely with relationship partners to maintain an effective client team and communication infrastructure.
- Plan and support client team meetings internally and externally.
- Identify and track opportunities and deliverables, motivating teams to progress them.
- Collaborate with relevant sectors to promote thought leadership and profile-raising initiatives with clients.
- Plan and attend relationship meetings with key client contacts, focusing on client needs and firm strengths, and drive post-meeting follow-up.
- Manage the preparation of client-required reports, such as financial information and training.
- Assist with formal and informal pitch opportunities, preparing teams for presentations and ensuring pitch documents reflect key messages.
- Support and manage legal panel reviews.
- Identify new pitch opportunities and seek direct client feedback, conducting interviews, analyzing results, and advising partners on actionable feedback.
- Lead and coach relationship partners and client team members on business development activities.
- Collaborate across sectors to identify trends and opportunities relevant to client teams and similar clients.
Wider M&BD Projects
- Contribute to wider marketing and business development initiatives, such as supporting events, lawyer training programs, and sharing best practices for client development.
- Participate in the firm's Global Responsible Business program.
- Duties may be reviewed to reflect changes in personnel, management structure, staff location, and services.

- Strong relationship-building skills with the confidence to challenge and counsel lawyers on client development best practices.

- Proven leadership skills to motivate diverse teams to achieve marketing goals.
- Proactive and persistent engagement with senior stakeholders, committed to following through on client goals and initiatives.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Seven (7)+ years of relevant experience within legal/professional services preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, account management, or related field preferred.
Salary Information:
- In Washington, DC, the annualized salary range for this position is $128,800 to $188,875, depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Additional Information:
- Core working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 . to 6:00 ., with flexibility for additional hours and occasional travel.
