Job Title: Coverage Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
As a Coverage Attorney at the law firm, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Handling a variety of civil litigation cases from inception to resolution.
- Conducting legal research, analyzing data, and developing strategies for cases.
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Attending hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
- Defending a variety of Civil Litigation Defense matters, specifically including:
- Insurance Coverage (required)
- General Liability
- Personal Injury
- Product Liability
- Professional Liability
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:
- A Juris Doctorate Degree (.).
- Active District of Columbia Bar License (required).
- Active Virginia Bar, and/or Maryland Bar (required).
- 8+ years of relevant experience in civil litigation defense.
- Experience with insurance defense clients.
- Experience handling insurance coverage casework.
- Proficiency in writing motions and other legal memoranda, summarizing depositions, and trial preparation.
- Ability to work independently from suit inception to settlement/trial.
