Job Title: Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Preparing affidavits, legal correspondence, and other documents for attorneys.
- Organizing and maintaining documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.
- Meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to discuss case details.
- Filing pleadings with court clerks.
- Scheduling meetings and depositions, ensuring attorney schedules are efficient and up-to-date.
- Assisting in trial preparation by organizing exhibits and performing other necessary tasks.
- Coordinating and contacting medical experts for reviews.
- Investigating case facts and laws, searching public records, and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action.
- Directing and coordinating law office activities, including the delivery of subpoenas.
- Gathering and analyzing statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, documents, and other data.
- Calling on witnesses to testify at hearings.
- Keeping the law library current by monitoring legal volumes.
Education and Experience Information:
- Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies, or relevant paralegal experience.
- Minimum of an Associate degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively multitask and manage time-sensitive documents in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
- Office administration experience.
