Job Title: Family Law Paralegal
Job Overview:
The law firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of family law and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills. The role involves supporting attorneys in managing cases, preparing legal documents, and ensuring smooth operations within the law office. The Family Law Paralegal will play a crucial role in providing high-quality service to clients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents related to family law cases, including petitions, motions, supporting calculations, and discovery materials.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems such as iManage, ensuring all documentation is organized and accessible.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and responding to inquiries with excellent phone etiquette.
- Organize and schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings for attorneys.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and copying documents as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient office operations and support for various legal matters, including immigration law and environmental law when necessary.
Skills:
- Must have previous experience.
- Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in document management systems; experience with iManage is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong clerical skills, including attention to detail in document preparation and filing.
- Effective phone etiquette for professional communication with clients and court personnel.
- Experience in legal case management software is a plus.
- Familiarity with immigration law is an advantage but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining confidentiality.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: Associate degree (Required)
- Experience:
- Paralegal: 3 years (Required)
- Assist in drafting documents: 2 years (Required)
Salary Information:
- Pay: $40, - $50, per year
