CA - SAN FRANCISCO Paralegal, Real Estate The candidate will be providing paralegal assistance to attorneys in the general Real Estate and Banking & Finance Practice Areas representing investors and lenders in commercial real estate loan transactions. Duties include: Participate in due diligence and other reviews of title, survey, zoning and related document review and research; under the supervision of an attorney, draft, edit, conform, and otherwise assist in the preparation of legal documents and correspondence; order and review title work and surveys; identify title and survey issues, negotiate title coverage and changes to surveys in order to correct title defects and issue clear title, and verify accuracy of final insurance policies and surveys; obtain services from outside contractors, including research services, filing services, and printing services and process billing and disbursement paperwork in connection with those services; organize, prepare for and coordinate escrow closings for purchase, sale and financing transactions, including assisting attorneys in preparing closing documents, reviewing settlement statements, setting up the closing, overseeing the execution, recordation (if necessary), and delivery of agreements and documents, and handling post-closing matters including preparation of closing binders. Bachelor's degree. Paralegal certification required. Minimum of three years law firm experience as a Real Estate paralegal, preferably in a large law firm. Must possess good organizational and communication skills, excellent Microsoft software knowledge, title and survey examination experience and a willingness to learn.
