Employee Benefits Associate
Job Responsibilities:
The Employee Benefits Associate will be responsible for a range of duties within the Tax Department's Employee Benefits Practice Group. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on private equity transactions.
- Drafting, negotiating, and providing counsel on executive compensation arrangements.
- Managing public company executive compensation programs and mergers and acquisitions transactions.
- Researching and advising on compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, and other relevant laws governing employee benefit plans.
- Engaging in qualified plans counseling and corrections.
- Handling Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs).
- Addressing ERISA Title I aspects of fund formation and investment management.
- Managing ERISA aspects of real estate, private credit, or structured finance transactions.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
- Substantial experience in private equity transactions.
- Experience with ERISA practice areas, such as qualified plans counseling and corrections, ESOPs, and ERISA aspects of fund formation and investment management.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Strong writing skills.
- A client-team focused approach.
- Bar license to practice or eligibility to waive into the New York Bar.

Salary Information:
The estimated salary range for the Employee Benefits Associate role is $365,000 - $420,000. Salary determinations are influenced by various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience and job history, class or graduation year, and practice area.
