Job Title: Docketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
As a Docketing Specialist at the law firm, you will be responsible for providing client support through expertise in calendaring/docketing, understanding court rules, conducting case research, managing legal procedures, and ensuring compliance with risk management issues related to calendaring and court functions. Your main duties will include:

- Extracting, calculating, entering, and updating due dates, case, and docket information by reviewing court mail, departmental email, and assignments from the department supervisor, attorney, or attorney liaison.
- Monitoring and applying court rules and calendaring protocols for courts across the country.
- Preparing various reports to notify attorneys of upcoming deadlines and case status.
- Keeping current with best practices regarding docketing, calendaring, and recordkeeping as they relate to risk management in the legal environment.
- Researching, navigating, searching, and retrieving information on litigants, judges, and case information from court-related databases including Pacer, Bloomberg, Westlaw, and court websites.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- Strong knowledge of docketing and business software.
- General knowledge of various practice areas such as Litigation and Bankruptcy to ensure calendaring needs are identified and met for compliance with risk management needs.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations.

Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Years of Experience:
- 2 years of prior docketing experience, preferably with a large law firm.
- Must possess strong knowledge of federal, bankruptcy, and state court rules and procedures.
- Prior experience with an electronic docketing system, such as CompuLaw, is preferred.

Salary Information:
The expected hiring range for this position at the law firm is $60K - $92K per year, depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Compensation offered for employment will also depend on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. The law firm offers a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Additional Information:
This position offers a hybrid work schedule and can be based in New York, Baltimore, Miami, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, Raleigh, or Washington . The work environment involves sedentary work, which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and involves sitting most of the time.
