Job Responsibilities:
The paralegal at the law firm will be responsible for a variety of tasks essential to the support of legal proceedings and client management. Key duties include:
- Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, chronologies, orders, and discovery.
- Preparing exhibits and assisting in witness preparation.
- Utilizing e-filing systems such as Westlaw Form Builder Software and other tools like Microsoft Office, Timeslips, Lexis Advance, and My Case.
- Managing deadlines and maintaining attorneys' calendars to ensure timely submissions and meetings.
- Assisting in trial, mediation, and deposition preparations.
- Navigating the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Civil Practice, and Remedy Code effectively.
- Maintaining professionalism while interacting with clients, courts, attorneys, and staff.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires candidates to have at least an Associate Degree or its equivalent. A minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal is also required. Additionally, candidates must be licensed as a Texas Notary Public and possess comprehensive knowledge of civil litigation, transactional law, probate, and real estate/HOA disputes.
Salary Information:
