Pro Bono Coordinator
Job Responsibilities
The Pro Bono Coordinator will work closely with the Pro Bono Partner and Pro Bono Senior Manager to execute and implement the law firm's Pro Bono Program. Reporting directly to the Pro Bono Senior Manager, the Coordinator will undertake various responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the program. These responsibilities include:
Administrative and Data Management:
- Assisting with advertising pro bono opportunities to attorneys and connecting them to referral organizations
- Maintaining organized tracking systems for pro bono opportunities and assignments
- Assisting with pro bono intake and new matter creation processes
- Compiling and analyzing data related to pro bono activities as directed by Supervisors
- Assisting in generating reports and analytics for internal reviews and external reporting requirements
Event and Program Coordination:
- Providing logistical support for pro bono trainings, workshops, and legal clinics under the guidance of the Supervisors
- Coordinating event logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, and participant communication
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Assisting in implementing pro bono components of broader initiatives in collaboration with various departments such as training, legal recruiting, marketing, and communications
- Responding to internal requests for pro bono information or assistance
External Collaboration:
- Coordinating with external legal service organizations to schedule and facilitate pro bono projects and events
- Supporting client partnerships by assisting in the logistics of pro bono collaborations
Attorney Support and Resources:
- Providing attorneys, particularly new hires, lateral attorneys, and summer associates, with resources and information regarding pro bono opportunities
- Assisting attorneys with administrative and procedural questions regarding pro bono participation
Communications and Recognition:
- Assisting in internal recognition programs celebrating attorney and staff pro bono achievements
- Regularly tracking and sharing topical news and case results related to pro bono activities with the Communications team for PR purposes
Technology Utilization:
- Effectively utilizing firm technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and for tracking, reporting, and administrative tasks
General Support:
- Providing responsive and proactive administrative support to the Supervisors
- Undertaking other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the firm-wide pro bono program
Essential Functions of Job:
- Coordinating administrative, organizational, and tracking functions of the pro bono program
- Planning and coordinating logistics for firm-wide pro bono events and trainings
- Maintaining accurate data and preparing reports
- Collaborating across departments and with external partners to support program success
- Proactively supporting attorney onboarding and ongoing participation in pro bono work
Education and Experience Information
Required Qualifications:
- A passion for pro bono work
- 4+ years of relevant work experience or 2+ years with a Bachelor’s degree
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills, client-service orientation, and ability to interface professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, and external partners
- Fluency in a second language required, particularly Spanish, French, Dari, Farsi, or Pashto
- Ability to travel between offices across the country
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a law firm environment preferred but not required
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
Computer/Software Knowledge
Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Work Environment
- The current policy is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the rest working from home, subject to change
- Overtime may be required occasionally as workload demands
Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel primarily between California offices for pro bono clinics, conferences, and events, with occasional travel to other . offices
Salary Information
California: The pay range for this position is to per hour
