Responsibilities:
- Monitor court filings, extract critical dates, and update docketing systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain integrity of docketing system and ensure quality assurance of all deadlines.
- Assign cases to team members based on expertise.
- Conduct legal research on court rules, case statuses, and orders.
- Assist in developing training materials and best practices for docketing department.
- Provide recommendations for improving legal knowledge, processes, and procedures.
- Train new staff and support ongoing development of docketing team.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and vendors to obtain court files and ensure accurate docketing.
- Generate specialized docket reports and send timely reminders of upcoming court appearances.
- Liaise with courts and administrative offices to confirm rules and procedures.
Qualifications:
- College-level training or a paralegal certificate with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in litigation docketing, calendaring, or a legal support role with docket responsibilities.
- Proficiency in CourtAlert (or similar docketing software), PACER, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a virtual environment and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Professional demeanor with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to supporting the firm and its legal teams.
Salary Information:
- Minimum: $62, USD
