Securities Litigation Paralegal The candidate will handle their own caseload where they will be responsible for familiarity with their cases and any upcoming deadlines. The S+S paralegals role is to review briefs and other documents and finalize, file, and serve them, as well as assist attorneys with discovery and case management. The candidate must have strong editorial skills proofreading, cite-checking, and familiarity with BlueBook rules. Must also be able to follow court procedural rules for state and federal courts across the country, including procedures for electronic filing. The candidate for this position should be familiar with California state court procedures and e-filing using such platforms as One Legal, Case Anywhere, and Odyssey. Also familiarity with setting up and noticing CourtCall appearances and court reporters. We are seeking a candidate who is a self-starter and has experience with plaintiff firms and securities and consumer class actions; experience with preparing complaints for filing and filing and service of same. The candidate must possess the ability to do the following: Provide support to multiple partners and associates while working under the guidance of a Senior Paralegal; ability to cite check to conform documents to BlueBook and do electronic filings; Complete projects on time and accurately - knowledge of grammar rules and attention to detail is critical; Bachelor s Degree, or Successful completion of the Certified Paralegal (CP) certifying examination of NALA, Inc., or Graduation from an ABA-approved program of study for paralegals, or Graduation from a course of study for paralegals which is institutionally accredited but not ABA approved, and which requires not less than the equivalent of 60 semester hours of classroom study. Additionally: Should have Graduation from a course of study for paralegals, other than those set forth in (2) and (3) above, plus not less than six months of in-house training as a paralegal, or minimum of three years of law-related experience under the supervision of an attorney, including at least six months of in-house training as a paralegal; or Five years of in-house training as a paralegal.
