Job Title: Associate Immigration Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Immigration Attorney at the law firm will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to clients and potential clients in the area of immigration law. Key duties include representing clients before immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals, conducting thorough research on legal issues related to immigration, and drafting motions and briefs. The attorney will also be tasked with communicating effectively with clients, attending hearings, preparing client testimony, and collecting and gathering evidence to support various immigration applications. Further responsibilities involve drafting statements in support of applications for relief, preparing appellate briefs, and submitting affirmative applications to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in immigration law. A license to practice law in any state is required, and the candidate must be in good standing with the relevant licensing board. The role demands a high level of organization, thoroughness, and the ability to work independently. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet research using Lexis Advanced and related sites are necessary. Excellent communication, research, and writing skills are crucial for success in this role. While not mandatory, fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) is preferred. Additionally, 1-3 years of experience in removal defense is considered advantageous.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Associate Immigration Attorney position is between $110,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on experience (DOE).
