Job Title: Advisor I-Immigration

Job Responsibilities:
The Immigration Advisor I is a crucial member of the Global team at a law firm, reporting directly to a regional Immigration Manager. The primary responsibilities include:

- Counseling and responding to queries from human resources, managers, and employees on global immigration-related matters such as visa processing, documentation, visa options, risks, and timelines.
- Conducting research to obtain information typically maintained by government entities and initiating contact with the Global team to alert them regarding potential process delays, problems, or updates.
- Preparing application materials required for various services, including new documents, authenticated documents, consular visas, passports, work permits, residence permits, and their extensions.
- Maintaining relationships with the law firm's global immigration service providers to ensure that employees receive quality service at all times.
- Accurately maintaining the law firm's internal database to ensure that all data is recorded, and appropriate actions are taken promptly to proactively drive cases forward and keep clients and relevant law firm managers updated in real-time.
- Evaluating cases, relaying concerns, and proactively escalating issues to the appropriate law firm team members or managers.
- Handling administrative duties associated with global immigration case management, such as processing payments or reimbursements, processing invoices, submitting receipts, generating reports, maintaining required legal documentation, and demonstrating competence in previously handled case types.
- Communicating at a professional level in English and improving knowledge of other foreign languages necessary for casework.
- Completing other related duties as assigned and supporting the firm.

Secondary responsibilities include providing support to other Global immigration teams at the manager’s discretion and performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Candidates should have 0-2 years of corporate immigration-related experience, with exposure to international corporate immigration preferred.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills. The ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in all dealings is essential. Candidates must be able to multi-task and function effectively in a fast-paced environment. Participation in and facilitation of a one-team environment with a professional, respectful attitude towards coworkers is necessary. Strong organization skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to produce error-free work are required. Candidates must think and act independently with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required, along with good general computer knowledge, typing skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The ability to learn new software or programs and travel within a limited radius to client sites or consulates is also necessary.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to maintain a sedentary position for up to 90% of the workday, type, grasp, grip, push and pull file drawers and doors, walk and climb stairs or use an elevator to coordinate with other departments, bend, stoop, kneel and/or stand to access files and documents, and lift up to 25 lbs. of files and/or boxes.
