Job Title: Corporate Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- As a member of the Corporate Tax Solutions Family, the Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting, either through tax provision preparation or audit support.
- The role involves engagement management for multiple clients within the service line, utilizing resources, environment, and support to excel in tasks.
- Day-to-day duties include planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects while managing budgets.
- Supervising, training, and mentoring senior associates, associates, and interns on tax projects, and assessing staff performance for engagement reviews.
- Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to sell services to existing and potential clients.
- Reviewing tax returns prepared by staff and making recommendations to enhance accuracy and identify tax savings opportunities.
- Conducting primary reviews of ASC 740 income tax provision engagements.
- Researching and consulting on various tax matters and using tax-related software for returns preparation and processing.
- Responding to inquiries from the IRS, state, and other tax authorities.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with clients and collaborating with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform tax services.
- Gaining an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives, and utilizing that knowledge on engagements.
- Participating in professional development and training sessions regularly.
- Adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and ensuring strict client confidentiality.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- A minimum of four to seven years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience is necessary.
- CPA or JD/active law license is required.
- Experience in public accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in corporate income tax and strong ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes skills is essential.
- The candidate should possess excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations.
- A strong working knowledge of broad-based statutory income tax compliance and consulting, including state and local income taxes, taxation of international activity, and transfer pricing is preferred.
- Exceptional client service, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.
- Experience in OneSource Tax Provision is preferred.
- Strong teamwork, analytical skills, and attention to detail are required.
- The ability to travel as needed is necessary.
Salary Information:
