Job Title: Associate - Investment Services
Job Responsibilities:
The Associate - Investment Services will join the Investment Services team within the corporate practice area. This role involves working closely with shareholders and participating in business development and client-facing activities. The associate will handle corporate or securities law matters, with a focus on registered investment companies and investment advisers, private funds, and regulatory and compliance issues related to federal securities laws, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933. Additional responsibilities include managing multiple matters simultaneously and ideally engaging in transactional and mergers & acquisition activities involving investment companies.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess a . degree and strong academic credentials. They must have 1-4 years of experience in corporate or securities law at a law firm. Experience with registered investment companies, investment advisers, private funds, and relevant federal securities laws is essential. Transactional or mergers & acquisition experience involving investment companies is preferred. Admission in good standing to practice law in Illinois or the District of Columbia, or steps towards obtaining such admission, is required.
Salary Information:
The position offers a competitive annual base salary ranging from $225,000 to $280,000, commensurate with the candidate's class year and experience. Additionally, there is a discretionary annual bonus program.
