Docketing court scheduling orders, briefing schedules, and other court-mandated conferences and deadlines are essential functions of the role.
The role requires maintaining electronic client files, including electronic pleadings and indices, as well as original pleadings and client documents. The assistant will run conflict checks, draft engagement letters, and manage the opening and closing of client matters. Reviewing, editing, finalizing attorney and paralegal time entries, and managing client invoices are also part of the responsibilities.
General legal administrative support is expected, which includes calendar management, scheduling and arranging meetings, conferences, and depositions, and handling routine correspondence. The assistant will coordinate travel arrangements and report expenses. Providing quality, responsive customer service to clients, attorneys, and co-workers is a key aspect of the job.

A professional demeanor, strong work ethic, including dependability and accountability, and the ability to work well under pressure, especially with court deadlines, are necessary.
Proficiency with MS Office is required, while experience with iManage and InTapp is preferred. Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to proactively identify issues and implement practical solutions.
