Job Title: Attorney Talent Operations Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Attorney Talent Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Directors of Attorney Talent Operations and is responsible for overseeing the integration and development of new lawyers within the law firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the onboarding and integration processes for summer and entry-level associates, coordinating with entry-level recruiting teams across the US and Asia, and implementing improvements through change management.
- Coordinating universal aspects of the summer program, including scheduling firm-wide meetings and facilitating reviews and work assignments for summer associates.
- Supporting the Chief of Attorney Talent and the department by planning and presenting at department-wide meetings, organizing internal trainings, meetings, and retreats, and managing specific cohorts within Attorney Talent.
- Providing training, mentoring, and supervision to junior team members, and contributing creatively to initiatives that foster a close team environment and maintain team morale.
- Supporting colleagues across Attorney Talent with process documentation and improvement, succession planning, and the onboarding and integration of new staff.
- Providing project management and operational support for special projects within the Attorney Talent Department, including areas such as non-partner compensation, employee relations, and retention tools.
Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate for the Attorney Talent Operations Manager position should have:
- Over 6 years of experience in human resources or attorney talent organization, particularly within professional development.
- Strong organizational skills, thoroughness, and a checklist mentality, with an ability to maintain a big-picture perspective.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in writing and using tools like PowerPoint and Canva.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with recruiting systems or staffing is a plus.
- Respect for confidential information and strong analytical skills to anticipate problems and propose practical solutions.
- Flexibility to handle competing and shifting demands with tight deadlines.
- The ability to command respect with quiet confidence.
Salary Information:
The law firm offers a comprehensive Total Rewards package, including health and well-being benefits, professional development opportunities, and a supportive culture. The anticipated pay range for the Attorney Talent Operations Manager role in Boston is $123,200 to $187,950. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and other non-discriminatory factors.
Working Conditions:
The position is based in a normal office environment, with the expectation to work on-site in the Boston office four days a week (Monday through Thursday) and remotely on Fridays. The incumbent is required to work the necessary hours to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
