Data Solutions Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Data Solutions Manager is tasked with leading a team to effectively utilize internal and external data sources and systems to address various legal and business challenges within the law firm's practice and administrative departments. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the Data Solutions team, providing strategic direction, oversight, and day-to-day guidance.
- Utilizing data sources to solve a range of legal and business problems for the firm's departments.
- Providing actionable support and coaching to team members for effective problem-solving.
- Collaborating on interdisciplinary projects to leverage data as part of broader solutions.
- Analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to deliver actionable insights to firm and department leadership.
- Curating and integrating new data sources to enhance the firm's data ecosystem and support new data product development.
- Working closely with AI Solutions and Platform Innovations teams to expand custom platform functionalities for real-time insights.
- Staying updated on data and governance developments to ensure safe, secure, and efficient data use.
- Preparing and presenting reports on data initiatives, performance metrics, and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Collaborating across the Innovation team to optimize solutions using the firm's data.
- Keeping informed about the latest data solutions technology to maintain the firm's innovation edge.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of machine learning and natural language processing concepts.
- Strong data analytics skills with the ability to extract key insights from diverse data sources.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to turn data into impactful narratives.
- Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and innovative problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform job duties.
- Minimum of five years of experience in data analysis, data science, or related roles.
- Minimum of two years in a formal leadership position.
- Proven experience in data visualization, data science, and statistical modeling, with high proficiency in Power BI and SQL (Python proficiency highly desired).
- Experience in a large law firm and/or with legal technology platforms is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing data projects and driving data-driven decision-making within an organization.
Salary Information:
Compensation for the Data Solutions Manager position is dependent on several factors, such as position, location, education, training, and/or experience. The hiring salary range is $135, - $155,.
