Job Title: Paralegal (Oil & Gas Land Tech)

Job Responsibilities:

- Work closely with attorneys and clients' land brokers to create and ensure accuracy and efficiency in application exhibits.
- Prepare affidavits, legal notices, application documents, and excel reports in support of application filings.
- Accurately calculate Royalty and Working Interest percentages based on available land and contract data.
- Prepare and submit check requests.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency and strengthen client communication.
- Support application efforts by generating reports, maps, scanning documents, and maintaining data integrity.
- Act as a liaison between regulatory agencies, company leadership, and external partners to streamline representation.
- Serve as a contact for issue resolution between clients, brokers, attorneys, and regulatory agencies, ensuring all inquiries and concerns are handled promptly.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Finance, Firm Management, Research Services, and Business Development to improve collaborative processes.
- Demonstrate leadership in prioritizing workloads, delegating tasks effectively, and maintaining structured accountability in meeting deadlines.
- Partner with management and cross-functional teams to meet auditing objectives and ensure compliance with internal standards.

Education and Experience Information:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Paralegal or Land Tech in-house at an oil and gas operator or at a land services company (broker).
- Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, ShareFile, OneDrive) and Adobe Forms.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication with regulatory agencies and internal teams.
- Ability to handle high-pressure deadlines with professionalism and composure.
- Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
- Comfortable working remotely while maintaining structured accountability.
- Strong analytical skills, including expertise in calculating Royalty and Working Interest percentages.
- Ability to accurately interpret land exhibits, plats, and legal documents related to land title and application exhibits.
- Precise computation skills with rapid problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong background in oil, gas, and mineral leasing with the ability to review various title documents and agreements.

- Must be comfortable working Eastern Time hours with flexibility dictated by project deadlines.
- Remote position requiring independent work management and accountability.
- Ability to handle direct communication, large volumes of requests, and high-stakes deadlines effectively.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
