Responsibilities:

- Lead the contracting process for a wide variety of customer and supplier agreements related to freight brokerage and project management services
- Liaise between various business units, outside legal counsel, and customer or vendor representatives to coordinate the contracting process
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts such as transportation provider/vendor agreements, master services agreements, purchase orders, non-disclosure agreements, and leases
- Manage contract administrative processes and ensure adherence to the company's compliance programs
- Act as a company resource for contract questions and provide legal advice and counsel
- Assist with the development of form agreements and implementation of processes and procedures for contract review and approval
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree and current law license (Texas preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a practicing lawyer in contract negotiations and transactions, real estate, compliance, or litigation
- High-performing individual with ability to work independently and manage a complex workload
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate legal and business justifications
- Excellent legal research, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Lexis/Nexis research system, and other legal research tools
- Experience with cloud-based contract databases and docketing tools
- Experience in the transportation and logistics industry is a plus
