How you’ll make an impact:
The Associate General Counsel, Privacy, will be instrumental in providing legal advice and support related to personal information management for the company and its subsidiaries. This includes advising on matters concerning the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of personal information. The role also involves representing the company in privacy-related matters with external parties and supporting enterprise policy administration and privacy program management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the company, including Information Security and business leads.
- Assist in the communication and implementation of regulatory compliance initiatives across brand entities.
- Work with brand subject matter experts to define business requirements for compliance with privacy legislation, trade and industry guidelines, and other frameworks applicable to the audio, connected vehicle, and advertising businesses.
- Coordinate US privacy governance efforts with the European privacy team.
- Provide privacy-by-design consultation during the early development stages of new products or data uses to ensure data governance and policy compliance.
- Assess new business processes for privacy impact and draft risk assessments.
- Offer legal and privacy guidance on customer and vendor due diligence questionnaires.
- Negotiate data processing agreements and other data-related contract provisions.
- Maintain and update internal and external privacy policies.
- Conduct internal training for business teams on data privacy rules and policies.
- Support privacy incident response investigations and remediation efforts.
- Stay informed about laws, regulations, court decisions, and industry best practices concerning privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence, biometrics, and consumer regulations related to data collection, use, and processing.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- . from an accredited . law school.
- Licensed and qualified to practice law in at least one state in the United States.
- CIPP certification is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification legal experience in-house or in private practice, with at least 2 years of experience in data privacy.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating contracts with technology and service providers, including SaaS and cloud providers, marketing technologies, advertisers, publishers, and advertising measurement and attribution vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply data privacy and information security knowledge to a corporate data privacy program.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Up-to-date knowledge of data protection laws in the US and Canada, including CCPA, GLBA, CAN-SPAM, and US State privacy laws. Knowledge of global data protection laws, including GDPR, UK-GDPR, e-Privacy, and EU AI Act, is desirable.
- Familiarity with the glossary and technical data requirements of the ad tech ecosystem and advertising industry standards.
- Understanding of privacy matters related to AI and ML is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Ability to work effectively with creative and technical subject matter experts.
- Capacity to build collaborative relationships and drive successful outcomes across functional disciplines and business types.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, focusing on achieving positive outcomes and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications and tool suites.

Salary Information:
At the company, a wide range of factors are considered when determining compensation, including the candidate's background and experience. The base salary for this position is expected to range from $193,000 to $260,000, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives.
