Job Description:

- Fox Rothschild, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Counsel to join our Labor & Employment Department in either our San Francisco or Los Angeles office.
- The ideal candidate will have nine to twelve years of relevant experience in the field.

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Responsibilities:

- Defend against single plaintiff litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and reasonable accommodation.
- Handle PAGA matters and class actions.
- Independently manage cases from start to finish.
- Conduct legal research, write briefs, and maintain a strong academic record.
- Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery.
- Argue motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
- Take and defend depositions, including those of plaintiffs and corporate witnesses.
- Provide employment counseling on federal and state laws and regulations.
- A smaller portable book of business is preferred, but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

- This is an office-based position that operates in a clerical setting.
- Standard office equipment, such as computers, telephones, printers, and copiers, will be used regularly.

Physical Requirements:

- This is a sedentary job that may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 10 pounds.
- The employee will spend most of their time sitting, but standing and walking may be necessary for job duties.
- Close visual acuity is required for activities such as analyzing data, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.

Compensation & Benefits:

- The salary range for this position applies to California and is based on various factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications, location, and market demands.
- A reasonable estimate for this position's current salary range is $265,000 - $290,000.
