Vision insurance Law Firm is actively seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Catastrophic Team. The successful candidate will provide support to attorneys in the investigation, review and preparation of cases. Job Responsibilities: Assist with screening of potential new cases Assist with opening of new files Calendar statutes of limitations, including government claims Interface with investigator to compile preliminary investigative information for new files Draft correspondence, fee agreements, authorizations, and standard preliminary documentation Handle daily emails and phone calls with attorneys, clients and court staff Draft judicial council forms, including CMC statements, minor's compromises, request for dismissals, complaints, pleadings, proofs of service, notices of taking deposition, deposition subpoenas, etc Work with attorney service to E-file pleadings in State Court (and on occasion USDC and Appellate Court); E-service of pleadings Instruct and interface with attorney service re service of process of complaints, deposition subpoenas, etc Schedule Zoom and remote appearances for meetings, depositions, court hearings and mediations Maintain team's calendar, scheduling, coordinating and calendaring all depositions, court hearings, motions, trials and deadlines Work closely with research attorney to finalize all law and motion documents, including preparing TOC/TOA as needed, PDF exhibits Ensure timely and accurate E-filing and E-service of all law and motion documents Prepare binders of law and motion documents; trial binders, file folders for depositions; experts file materials, etc Properly organize litigation files Assist with settlements, drafting closing documentation and closing of file Job Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in personal injury and civil litigation College degree or college credits; paralegal certificate would be helpful, but not necessary contingent upon experience Desire to learn, be resourceful, have the ability to work independently and proactively Demonstrate excellent follow-through for various tasks Possess a flexible can-do attitude Empathy and compassion for clients Ability to remain calm when under pressure Salary and Benefits: Salary is commensurate with experience Benefits include medical, dental, vision and HSA account Law Firm - Paralegal Law Firm is actively seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Catastrophic Team.
