Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal position is integral to the efficient operation of legal services at the law firm. The primary responsibilities include investigating and researching facts to support the assigned attorney, managing cases accurately, and ensuring effective communication with clients and attorneys. Below are the detailed duties and responsibilities associated with this role:
- Case Management:
- Obtain, review, and organize medical records.
- Conduct insurance coverage investigations.
- Prepare, calculate, and maintain damage summaries, including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage.
- Log daily mail.
- Prepare and forward medical records to insurance carriers.
- Draft correspondence necessary for case management.
- Balance verifications and assist with subrogation lien resolution.
- Prepare check requests, maintain check records, and mail checks.
- Assist attorney with settlement documentation and disbursements.
- Prepare disbursement summaries.
- Prepare files for litigation transfer when necessary.
- Communication:
- Maintain consistent and regular communication with clients regarding case status.
- Generate weekly reports.
- Participate in monthly team meetings.
- Provide support for other team members in their absence.
- Meet or exceed established goals.
- Ensure regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Two years of relevant work experience is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A paralegal certificate is preferred.
Knowledge:
- Highly proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with legal practices and procedures.
- Understanding of business practices.
- Knowledge of standard clerical and general office administration procedures.
- High command of English grammar, usage, punctuation, and spelling.
- Proficient in the use of computers and related software applications.
- Knowledge of research procedures.
- Competence in procedures for preparing legal documentation.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a professional office environment, with exposure to computer screens and a low level of noise.
