Job Title: Legal Assistant - Trial

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide legal administrative support to attorneys and act as a liaison for clients.
- Initiate client/matter openings, including conducting conflicts checks and preparing engagement letters.
- Proactively manage attorneys' calendars, anticipate necessary steps, and implement follow-up procedures to ensure deadlines are met.
- Create, edit, revise, redline, and proofread legal documents.
- Enter attorneys' time and ensure accuracy through proofreading and appropriate task coding to comply with firm policies.
- Assist with the billing process, including distributing, reviewing, and editing monthly proformas, and sending invoices and correspondence to clients.
- Maintain both electronic and hard copy client files, ensuring documents are filed promptly and accurately in Outlook and the document management system.
- Process and route incoming mail and electronic communications, and prepare outgoing mail for prompt delivery.
- Handle reimbursement requests, check requests, and vendor invoices.
- Coordinate attorney meetings and appointments, including scheduling conference rooms.
- Organize travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, and rental cars.
- Maintain attorney CLE records, including seminar registration and reporting.
- Proofread, edit, format, and draft electronic correspondence, pleadings, discovery, briefs, and other memoranda for accuracy.
- Manage docket and coordinate with attorneys on upcoming dates and deadlines.
- File legal documents electronically in both state and federal courts.
- Possess knowledge and understanding of local and federal court rules and procedures.
- Provide a high level of customer service to attorneys and clients.
- Perform additional duties as requested.

Education and Experience Information:
- High School diploma or . equivalent is required.
- At least 2 years of related experience is necessary, with a preference for law firm experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of local and federal court rules and procedures are required.
- Experience with Federal and State Court filing systems is essential.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat is necessary.
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills are required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
- Strong organizational skills are necessary.
- Excellent customer/client service focus and skills are required.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and perform well under pressure to meet deadlines is necessary.
